Efektivitas Penormalan Modem Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) pada kWh Meter 3 Fasa
Abstract
Abstract
The implementation of an AMR system on three-phase kWh meters can improve the efficiency of monitoring, recording, and managing customers’ electricity consumption data automatically, transmitting it from the kWh meter to a server through a specific communication network, namely the internet. However, during implementation, error disturbances are still found in the AMR modem, which can cause measurement inaccuracies in the AMR system. This may result in inaccurate electricity billing for customers and erroneous reporting, leading to losses for the company. The normalization process is carried out in several stages, starting from fault notification through to the commissioning test stage. Physical inspection of the modem, measurement of the supply voltage, signal quality checking, SIM card inspection, network connection testing, reconfiguration of communication parameters, device reset, and replacement of damaged components—along with the restoration of smooth communication between the kWh meter and the AMR device system as indicators of the successful normalization of the AMR modem for various causes of disturbance. The research results show that the effectiveness of the AMR modem normalization process reached 92.3% out of 220 fault cases that occurred during the research period. AMR modem faults were mostly caused by modem damage, SIM card problems, modem configuration errors, and environmental factors. The normalization process is considered successful when the AMR system can obtain various measurement data from the customer’s kWh meter, including voltage, current, electricity consumption, and other variables such as customer ID, location point, modem type, SIM card number and type, and IP address.
